  • What happens if my debit order fails?

    Should your debit order fail, you will be notified by SMS and the outstanding fee will be added to your next debit order. If your debit order fails twice, your account will be suspended and all your benefits and rewards will be cancelled.

  • How do I change my debit order details?

    To change your debit order details, please contact the bonsella Call Centre on 087 310 2871, and a friendly agent will assist.

  • How do I reactivate my bonsella SILVER / GOLD account if it has been suspended?

    If your SILVER / GOLD membership has been suspended, you can visit your nearest bonsella store and speak to in store bonsella agent to reactivate your account, or contact the bonsella Call Centre on 087 310 2871.

  • Can I still get bonsella airtime rewards even if I cancel my bonsella SILVER / GOLD card?

    Yes, you can downgrade your SILVER / GOLD membership to the FREE bonsella card at any time (provided you give a minimum of 3 days notice before your debit order date). When you downgrade, you will forfeit all exclusive SILVER / GOLD benefits. You can contact the bonsella Call Centre on 087 310 2871 to cancel your membership and then visit your nearest bonsella store to obtain a new FREE bonsella card from the in store agent.

  • How do I cancel my bonsella membership?

    To cancel your bonsella membership, you can go in store and cancel with the bonsella in store agent, or you can call the bonsella Call Centre on 087 310 2871. Upon cancellation, your bonsella card will be void - no more airtime rewards will be earned and all benefits will be cancelled. You will need to cancel at least 3 days before your next debit order date.

  • What do I do if my cellphone number has changed?

    To change your registered cell phone number, you can visit your nearest bonsella store or contact our bonsella Call Centre on 087 310 2871 and an agent will assist you with updating your details.

  • How can I contact Stangen?

  • How do I obtain a copy of my policy certificate?

    Individual participation certificates or the Master Policy document may be provided upon request from the Insurer. *Exclusive to bonsella GOLD members only.

  • How long do I have to claim after an incident?

    Claims must be submitted within 6 months of the death of the main member in order to be paid.

  • What information or documentation do I need to submit a claim?

    The following documents are required to claim:

    • Certified copy of beneficiary's ID
    • Certified copy of deceased member's ID
    • Certified copy of deceased's death certificate
    • BI-1663 form with completed information of the notice of death
    • Copy of beneficiary's bank statement with a bank stamp
    • Police Report for unnatural death
    • Completed claim form (obtained from the Insurer)

  • How do I claim from my Personal Accident Life Cover?

    To submit a claim, you should call Stangen on 0861 007 967 or visit www.stangen.co.za and click on the claims button. You can also email claims@stangen.co.za or fax 087 942 4725. *Exclusive to bonsella GOLD members only.

  • Am I covered outside of South Africa?

    The bonsella GOLD Personal Accident Life Cover benefit and cover are valid in South Africa only. Therefore, any member who passes away outside of the borders of RSA, will not be covered. *Exclusive to bonsella GOLD members only.

  • What does "Accidental death" mean?

    Accidental death is defined as an unforeseen incident that happened unexpectedly and unintentionally at an identifiable time and place, and was caused by violent, external and visible means and resulted in the death of the Main Member. Suicide is therefore specifically excluded.

  • Can I change my nominated beneficiary?

    Yes. To change your nominated beneficiary, please contact Stangen on 0861 007 966 or visit www.stangen.co.za.

  • Are there any requirements for the nominated beneficiary?

    Your nominated beneficiary must be 18 years or older and must have a valid South African bank account.

  • Is there a minimum or maximum age for Personal Accident Life Cover?

    The minimum entry age for new members is 18 years of age.

  • What cover do I get with my Personal Accident Life Cover benefit?

    The bonsella GOLD Personal Accident Life Cover benefit covers the main member only. Should you wish to obtain additional cover for family members, you should contact Stangen on 0861 007 966 for a quote. *Exclusive to bonsella GOLD members only.

  • How do I know when my Cover has been activated?

    You will receive an SMS to your registered cell phone number upon inception of your bonsella GOLD Personal Accident Life Cover.

  • When is my Personal Accident Life Cover start date?

    Your bonsella GOLD Personal Accident Life Cover start date is on the first day of the calendar month following your first successful monthly debit order payment. *Exclusive to bonsella GOLD members only.

  • What is the Personal Accident Life Cover benefit?

    The Personal Accident Life Cover benefit is available to bonsella GOLD members only. In the event of death due to accidental cause, a cash benefit of R15,000.00 will be paid to your nominated beneficiary (this person must be 18 years or older and must have a valid South African bank account). The cover is embedded within your bonsella GOLD membership, and is underwritten by Stangen (Authorised FSP: No 47235).

  • What kind of legal advice can I get through the bonsella Assistance Line?

    The bonsella Legal Advice line offers advice on all legal matters, including: criminal offences, labour matters, fines, debt, contracts, divorce, maintenance and motor vehicle accidents.

  • I have been referred to a professional by the SILVER / GOLD Assistance services line - is my consultation fee covered?

    The bonsella Assistance line is for advice and refferals to the most appropriate professional only. Should you choose to visit the referred service provider, any fees will be at your own cost.

  • I forgot to use my voucher code and paid for my purchase - can I get a refund on the voucher?

    No, unfortunately the voucher is only valid when presented before a purchase or booking is completed and no refunds will be given for unredeemed vouchers.

  • Can I give my discount voucher to someone else?

    No, vouchers are not transferable and a valid ID document may be required for verification with bonsella benefit providers and / or discount partners.

  • Do I still get the discount if I use my Edgars or Jet account?

    No, bonsella discount vouchers are only valid for cash purchases only and cannot be discounted off store account payments.

  • What is bonsella SILVER?

    bonsella SILVER is a paid-for tier of bonsella. For a monthly fee of just R19, members get DOUBLE bonsella competition entries as well as exclusive monthly savings at Jet, discounted funeral services and access to the bonsella Assistance Line (Crisis Assist, Legal Advice, Homework Help, Health Advice and Clinic Services) - valued at more than R300 very month.

  • What is bonsella GOLD?

    bonsella GOLD is the premium paid-for tier of bonsella. For a monthly fee of just R49, members get DOUBLE bonsella airtime and competition entries as well as exclusive monthly savings (Jet, Edgars, CNA, WeFix, Intercape Bus, PSL Tickets and Magazine Subscriptions), R15,000 Personal Accident Life Cover and access to the bonsella Assistance Line (Crisis Assist, Legal Advice, Homework Help, Health Advice and Clinic Services) - valued at more than R750 every month.

  • How much do bonsella SILVER / GOLD cost?

    Your bonsella SILVER membership fee of R 19.00 or bonsella GOLD membership fee of R49 will be charged each month for access to your benefits.

  • When will my bonsella benefits be activated?

    Your bonsella airtime and competition benefits will be activated immediately on successful registration. Retail discounts, assistance services and insurance (GOLD only) benefits will be activated within 48 hours of first successful monthly payment. You will be notified by SMS upon activation of your benefits.
